National Monitoring System 2017/18 data released

National Monitoring System (NMS) data for 2017/18, showing how local authorities implemented the RMA during this period is now available. The data shows that, across New Zealand, a resource consent was granted every 13 minutes!

There is now four years of data providing detailed information on planning, consenting and enforcement practice. Analysis of this data will be an important input into the upcoming review of the resource management system.

Next up for the NMS team is consulting with councils on requirements for 2019/20 data in late March, and collecting 18/19 data.
