More than a year has passed since the aquaculture reforms came into force in 2011. They were intended as a “kick start” for the aquaculture industry to reach a $1 billion potential by 2025. Readers may recall the article authored by James Gardner-Hopkins in RMJ’s April 2012 edition “A Brave New World of Coastal Development: Have the Aquaculture Reforms Unlocked the Industry’s Potential?”, regarding the purpose and detail of those reforms.
