Forecast shows building activity returning to pre-COVID levels

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has published the National Construction Pipeline Report 2023 providing a projection of national building and construction activity for the 6 years from December 2022 to December 2028.

Micheal Warren, MBIE Manager System Strategy and Performance says the overall activity forecast is positive, short-term reductions across various measures in the report suggest activity fluctuations in the sector are being less affected by COVID-19 and returning to a more usual pattern.
