EPA negotiates challenges to deliver new systems and improved processes

The Environmental Protection Authority has delivered its latest annual report.

The report says that during 2023/24 they delivered important systems, including a chemical map to better understand chemical use and support reassessment of hazardous substances, and a case management system for their compliance, monitoring and enforcement.

The EPA says they continue to improve their processes and speed up their assessments of applications to test hazardous substances in contained settings. They have more than doubled the overall assessment speed for containment applications and are now keeping pace with all new applications.
