Have your say on making drinking water safer for everyone

 MfE has launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the National Environmental Standard for Sources of Human Drinking Water (NES-DW).Your feedback is welcome until 6 March 2022.The Government is proposing three key areas of improvement to NES-DW to strengthen its ability to protect drinking water sources:

  • standardising the way we define source water areas,
  • strengthening regulation of activities around water sources, and
  • including more water suppliers under the NES-DW.
