Public Consultation on dairy industry review

The public will have a say in the government's review of legislation governing Fonterra and the $8 billion dairy industry.

The review will consider the effectiveness of the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001 and its impact on the industry.

Terms of reference were published in early May, and the public consultation stage is due to start in October.

The Ministry for Primary Industries will lead the review and expects policy recommendations will be made to the government early in 2019.
