Scorecard reveals majority of political parties to scrap irrigation subsidies

A scorecard developed by supporters of the Freshwater Rescue Plan reveals that five of seven of New Zealand’s political parties favour ending public irrigation subsidies, with only National and New Zealand First refusing to state their position.According to the scorecard, ACT, Greens, Labour, Māori Party, and TOP all plan to end irrigation subsidies. Supporters of the Fresh water Rescue Plan consulted with the political parties and analysed their policy statements to develop the scorecard.The scorecard is hosted on Forest & Bird’s election information website: www.votefornature.org.nz
