Rotorua scheduled in Housing Accords Act

The Rotorua Lakes district has been added to Schedule 1 of the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas (HASHAA) Act 2013.Cabinet on Monday approved the move and the decision has been formally gazetted last Friday August 25.Rotorua's population growth is putting pressure on housing prices and availability. The Housing Accord will enable the Council and the Government to work together to free up more land, grow supply and co-ordinate support for people in housing need,  said Building and Construction Minister Nick Smith. Image credit: Freepik
