Canterbury Young RMLA invites you to join them for an insightful session featuring two speakers Kate McIntosh (Canterbury Regional Council) and Naomi Darvill (Stantec) as they share their different experiences and perspectives on working as a council planner versus consultant planner in the resource management field.
Kate McIntosh is a Consent Planner at Canterbury Regional Council. She graduated from the University of Otago in 2022 with a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Environmental Management and Māori Studies. She has been a Consent Planner with CRC since January 2023 and processes a range of consents activity, but her focus is construction-based activities such as earthworks, dewatering and stormwater, in both the operational and construction phases.
Naomi Darvill is a Planner based in Stantec’s Ōtautahi Christchurch office. She completed her Master of Planning at Lincoln University in November 2022, with a dissertation topic on enablers to peri-urban food production in the Global North. Naomi is committed to future focussed and community-led planning and policy development, connecting with people on a human-human level, and fostering collaboration to achieve good outcomes for all.
