Honouring a Legacy: Celebrating The Salmon Lectures

The Salmon Lectures: Law, Policy and the Environment (2002-2024)

We warmly invite you to a special event to mark the publication of The Salmon Lectures: Law, Policy and the Environment — a landmark collection of lectures delivered over 24 years, now brought together for the first time in one volume.

Named in honour of the Honourable Peter Salmon KC, the Salmon Lecture series has featured many of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most respected voices in environmental law and policy. This publication reflects the depth and breadth of thought leadership shared through the years — and the enduring legacy of Peter Salmon’s contribution to our profession.

We are delighted that the book itself includes a foreword written by Chief Environment Court Judge David Kirkpatrick, and we look forward to a keynote address from Judge Laurie Newhook on the evening whose keynote address will pull together a significant theme of access to environmental justice that flows through many of the papers over the years and that is so topical right now.

This will be a unique opportunity to reconnect with past contributors and colleagues, reflect on the evolution of the field, and celebrate a significant milestone for community of resource management practitioners.
