Invercargill City Council is looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our busy Planning Team as an RMA Monitoring and Plan Effectiveness Officer. This role offers a great opportunity for professionals or those looking to take the next step up.

The RMA Monitoring and Plan Effectiveness Officer will enjoy undertaking investigations in the field and assessing those findings against the District Plan, Resource Management Act, and resource consent conditions. You will have the proven ability to work alongside resource consent holders and property owners. You will use your skills to encourage compliance while ensuring that evidence collected on unresolved issues is accurate and robust resulting in successful enforcement

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification e.g. Resource Management, Environmental Science, or Public Law/ Local Government

  • Experience in undertaking investigations and operating within a quality system

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Current New Zealand Driver’s Licence

  • Well-developed Microsoft Suite skills
