Resource Management Officer – Administrative Compliance

As a regional council, Environment Southland is responsible for leading the sustainable management of Southland’s natural, and physical resources – water, land, air, and the coast. These resources are vitally important because they underpin both our regional economy and our quality of life.
We are looking for a Resource Management Officer – Administrative Compliance to join our busy team. As a Resource Management Officer – Administrative Compliance, you will have a sound level of environmental knowledge with an emphasis on air quality, water quantity, and quantity. You will have the ability to manage and reprioritise an ever-changing workload and develop relationships throughout Council, with consent holders, the general public, and industry representatives.
To be successful in this role you will need to have
A tertiary qualification in a relevant science and/or resource management discipline;
Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders and tangata whenua; and
An understanding of resource consents, application process and associated management issues; and
Attention to detail
You will be an effective communicator; know your way around the Microsoft suite, and hold a full driver’s licence.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range $68,000-$71,800.
