Stage two of the Water Conservation Order hearing: Ngaruroro and Clive Rivers

Stage two of the hearing for the Water Conservation Order for the Ngaruroro and Clive Rivers is scheduled to commence on 26 February 2019 at the Napier Conference Centre.The stage two hearing will focus on the lower reaches of both the Ngaruroro and Clive Rivers and all issues raised in submissions when additional public notification took place in July 2018.Stage one of the hearing took place from 14 November-6 December 2017 and focussed on the upper reaches of the Ngaruroro River.Water Conservation Orders recognise the outstanding amenity or intrinsic values of a body of water and can be applied over rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, wetlands or aquifers and over freshwater or geothermal water.Read more
