yRMLA Wellington and Chapman Tripp Presents: Navigating the change – a discussion with Richard Fowler KC on the transition to the RMA
The RMA is set to be replaced with the NBEA and other legislation. This generates a lot of uncertainty, especially for young practitioners who are still in the process of understanding the current legislation. What will the transition look like? What will be the pitfalls? Will I have to start from scratch?
Luckily, New Zealand has made such a substantial change before! Prior to the RMA, there were the Town and Country Planning Acts (and other legislation) that regulated what the RMA regulates today. By learning about the transition to the RMA, we should be able to gain some insight into what the transition to the NBEA will look like.
Richard Fowler KC, who was a practitioner during that period, is willing to answer our questions about the transition to the RMA. So, come along for an informal discussion/Q+A with Richard about what it was like to practice during that transition and what lessons we can apply to the transition to the NBEA. This will be an informal event, so feel free to bring your own questions for Richard.
Numbers are limited to 25 people (and members only), so get in quick!
