Two current projects in Wellington, aimed at improving active transport choices in the region, highlight the complexities of consenting activities in the coastal environment and illustrate two approval pathways potentially open to consent applicants. Representatives of the two applicants, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Hutt City, will describe the projects and share insights into how the legislative frameworks of the COVID-19 Recovery Act and RMA (respectively) were applied to them.
