RMLA Auckland : Bottom lines for Landscape Protection – do they need to change?
Landscape protection is a contentious issue in resource management in NZ. Following the King Salmon decision some consider the RMA is finally being applied as it was intended and setting some clear bottom lines for the protection of our most precious landscapes. Others consider the application of the jurisprudence has sterilised a lot of our landscapes and is holding back necessary developments.
Come and hear from a panel of experienced practitioners in the field of landscape management in NZ: Stephen Brown and Rebecca Ryder who are both landscape architects, and Andrew Beatson a resource management lawyer. Each panellist will be addressing the question: “Should the Government change the law/policy relating to the bottom lines for landscape protection?”
This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
