The Role:

This role supports our team of planners, environmental scientists, farm environmental consultants and Geospatial staff within the Taranaki region and coordinates with the other regional leads across the country to drive growth, productivity and an aligned approach to world-class customer service across our 20 strong planning and environmental science team.

The Regional Lead is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Planning and Environmental services across the Taranaki region and, at times across the north island co-ordinate workloads with other leads. With a specific focus on mentoring staff, facilitating regionally focused projects and managing local infrastructure, technology and tools this role will ensure we deliver real value for our clients in the Landpro way.

The role will lead and directly deliver on some of the bigger, more complex jobs while seeking new business for the company and connecting nationally at the industry level.

A bit about you:

  • You may have planning or environmental management background, and/ or experience managing a team of enthusiastic professionals
  • You will take pride in cutting through red tape and thrive on becoming a trusted advisor for your clients
  • You will be solution focused and enjoy thinking strategically about client, team and business opportunities
  • You will have interest in leading a growing team and nurturing passionate staff

Our preferred candidate would have some or all of the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in planning or environmental science (or equivalent) with at least 5 years industry experience
  • Experience nurturing open relationships with clients and partners including Iwi, Hapu and regulators.
  • An excellent understanding of current and future planning and environmental legislation
  • Significant experience in delivering successful complex planning outcomes for subdivisions, land use and infrastructure.
  • Experience with District and/or Regional Council planning processes to hearing and Environment Court expert witness level.
