Both Rachel and Amelia were members of the Resource Management Review panel, and were key players in the report’s recommendation to repeal and replace the RMA with new legislation. Rachel Brooking has many years’ experience as a resource management and local government lawyer, and has recently moved into politics as a Labour Party MP. Rachel is also the Deputy Chairperson of the Environment Select Committee. Amelia Linzey has over 25 years’ experience as a planner and is the Group Director of the Advisory Services Group at Beca, and is also a Senior Technical Director in Beca’s planning team.
This presentation was on what the NBEA exposure draft covers and how it is expected to be implemented. Rachel provided an overview of what the exposure draft covers, and Amelia gave her thoughts and observations on ‘where the legislation is going’, and practical tips on how it might apply in practice.
