Tararua District Council : Planning Officer

As a consequence of lots of exciting developments happening in the district, the Council is looking to appoint either an experienced consents planner or a recent graduate with a planning/resource management qualification to its planning team.

Whilst relevant experience and qualifications are preferred, if you are someone with a related bachelor’s degree qualification and an interest in urban and rural or environmental planning and would be willing to work and study for a planning qualification with council support, then we would be pleased to hear from you.

We are looking for a Planning Officer with 12 month’s experience in a similar role.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Planning Services, you will assess and report on resource consent applications, provide expert technical advice, and perform the broad functions and requirements of the Resource Management Act.

This role requires technical expertise, excellent customer service and communication skills, and a drive for continuous improvement. If you’re a positive team player with a good sense of humour, we want to hear from you!
